Hands Up!

Exodus 14:8 (KJV) And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.

This verse is pretty cool, if you know the back story. After God wore him down with plague after nasty plague, Pharaoh finally relented and allowed the children of Israel to leave Egypt. These people had endured more than 400 years of slavery before Moses led them to the promised land.

The Israelites didn't sneak out of Egypt under cover of darkness. They went with anticipation and hope in their hearts. And they raised their hands in praise to God for His deliverance.

Life is full of entrances and exits, beginnings and endings. It matters how you start off, and it's equally important to finish strong.

I want to leave this world with joy, my hands held high, praising my Savior.

Female in Motion Health Update: I did disco aerobics twice last week, and although I can tell I'm really out of shape, it felt good to make a start.
