Kitten Watch 2010

How time zooms along! Sock's kittens will be three weeks old tomorrow. These four fur bundles are so fun to watch and cuddle. Every day, they get bigger, rounder, more brave and much, much cuter! This week, their ears are popping up and they are tussling with each other. Sibling rivalry is rearing its ugly head!

Easter weekend went by so fast it made a whooshing noise as it passed. The Hubster and I cooked, cleaned, shopped, ran errands and participated in lots of church activities. Sometimes I get concerned that while we try to fit in all the activities, we forget to stop and reflect on Christ's ultimate sacrifice for our sins...the reason for the holiday, after all. I got a chance to slow it all down and thank God for The Gift by observing one of our church's ordinances on Sunday night, The Lord's Supper.

Missionary Baptist Church, 210 Windsor Road, Ark City, will be hosting a Church Growth Seminar this week at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and Sunday at 11 a.m. The evangelist leading this meeting is Jeremy Rands, administrative pastor of First Baptist Church, Milford, Ohio. Rands is a young and dynamic preacher. You'll want to make time to hear him.

Momala's Book Club Pick of the Week: "Divine Justice" by David Baldacci is a spy thriller about a rogue government assassin on the run after bumping off the head of the CIA and a prominent U.S. Congressman. But that's not the exciting part. It's only when he happens upon a small, sleepy mining town in West Virginia that the plot really speeds up and gets intriguing. Yeah, I know...I love that, too! This was a 523-page book that I devoured in a mere few days, and a few late nights. The pace is quick and the characters are flawed, but fascinating. There is minimal romance and a fair amount of violence, which is to be expected. Four out of five stars. You can find this book at: http://www.amazon.com/Divine-Justice-Camel-David-Baldacci/dp/0446544884/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1270518452&sr=1-1.

Female in Motion Exercise Update: I did three hand weight calisthenic sets last week and two disco aerobic workouts. I have found that I work out longer to disco music than just regular aerobics with boring background music. Go figure!

Photos: Pictured in the left photo are Socks, the mommy cat and her four furry eating machines: Auddie and Gladys, Dot and T.J. (named after The Hubster's and my grandparents); in the photo on the right are the delectable Easter cupcakes that our daughter, Rachel, made. Cute!
