Guilty as Charged

Psalm 103:11-12 (KJV) For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

In my nightmare, I'm being chased by a snarling monster that just can't be shaken. Once overtaken, he pounces on me, pinning me to the ground--a heavy weight on my chest. I wake in a sweat, breathing hard.

Guilt is, simply put, the weight of sin on our souls. But guilt does not come from God. There is no such thing as "Godly guilt."

The accuser pushes guilt onto our hearts because he is desperate. He knows the freedom that Christ bestows. Satan wants us to continue to be shackled by sin. He's a liar.

We must repent and ask for forgiveness. After that, our sins are covered by the blood of Jesus. If you know, love and believe in our Savior, you have no guilt. It is replaced with God's grace and our gratitude and praise.

Step into the climate of freedom that is yours to accept.

You matter.

You are unique to God.
