Limitless

Image
Psalm 8:1, 3-4 (KJV)  O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.  When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  God is limitless. There is nothing He cannot do. He is omnipresent. --God has an unlimited presence. He is omniscient. --God has unlimited knowledge, awareness, and understanding. He is omnipotent. --God has unlimited power and authority. *** Notable Quote: "I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in."--George Washington Carver

Let Him Handle It

Image
My sweet cousin, Darci, makes the most beautiful jewelry and sells on Etsy.com. Psalm 123:2 (KJV) Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us. Recently, I pulled out a necklace to wear and noticed it was tangled and knotted. I knew exactly what to do. This has happened many times. I simply took it to The Hubster and dropped the jewelry into his capable hands.  Within minutes, the necklace was untangled and ready to wear. He is a man of many talents. Because I have seen The Hubster fix my jewelry mishaps over and over, I have complete confidence that he can handle anything I give him. No longer do I worry and fret about trying to fix it myself, I just let him handle it. And he does. Every time. Wouldn't my life be much more stress-free if I practiced the same strategy with all of my problems? Instead of laying them...

Wait For It

Image
Psalm 37:34 (KJV) Wait on the LORD, and keep his way. When The Hubster was finishing his education at Friends University, his classes were held on Saturday. Occasionally, my daughters and I would accompany him and we would spend the day shopping or go to a movie. Near the westside mall was an intersection where the traffic light took so long to change, the girls labeled it, "the light of death." We tried to avoid it, if at all possible. Waiting is such a difficult concept for humans to grasp. Children can't wait to get big, teens can't wait to get their license, workers can't wait for vacation and baby boomers can't wait to retire. Some say waiting is the hardest work of all, but God asks us to wait until He reveals His will. Our Father gives us hard tasks to help us mature in our faith. He promises grace for the journey in exchange for our faithful patience. Busyness and thrashing about are so easy in comparison to a calm, peaceful pause. As Chris...

Follow the Directions

Image
About a year ago, The Hubster and I watched an episode of ABC's 20/20, in which they told the story of a young woman who became stranded in the desert for five days near the Grand Canyon. She faithfully followed the instructions on her GPS, until her vehicle ran out of gas in a remote area of Arizona.  The majority of young adults, and even some oldsters like me, have and use a geographical positioning system of some type. While trying to find the nearest gas station recently, I went on a wild goose chase in the outskirts of Haysville, Kansas, when a quick half block to the right would have easily had me filling my tank. Whether I need turn-by-turn or long-range direction, I can use the best tools in the universe: my Bible and the Holy Spirit. A GPS may lead me astray in unfamiliar territory, but God is faithful and constant.  Our Father's sense of direction is perfect...and He'll never steer you wrong. *** Notable Quote: "Leave sooner, dri...
