The Kitchen Sink

Photo courtesy of The Organized Mom Friends, I want you to know tonight just how much you are loved. We all sang “Jesus Loves Me” in Sunday School, but have you really absorbed just how much He truly cares for you and you alone? Not the dressed up for church, full makeup wearing, handling your business, got it all under control you—but the dirty bathrobe wearing, standing at the sink and cold pizza eating, ugly crying, completely out of control you. (Or maybe that’s just me.) I needed to hear this today, so I sure hope you don’t mind. Life gets pretty fast and crazy some days, and there are seasons when you feel like you can’t handle one more thing. Do you feel your pulse racing and heart pounding? That’s stress. When stress is getting the better of me, I know it’s time to listen to the Master. He has some things to tell me. I am good enough. Just the way I am. Without all the answers. Just taking baby steps forward. Lord, thanks for standing at the kitchen sink...

Shower the People

Valentine's Day party 2019 1 John 3:18 (KJV) My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. I love Valentine's Day. It's my favorite holiday, by far. It's a day set aside to show all the people in my life just how much they mean to me. This year, I did it up big. I wore red every day last week. The party-planning article I wrote appeared in the Rainbows United Facebook page. I bought gifts for several loved ones, bought candy for all the kids I know, sent countless Valentine's cards, planned two big parties, and had a very exclusive celebration with the Hubster. I also received many heartfelt cards, yummy chocolates, lovely presents, sweet emails and best of all--wonderful hugs. It is a privilege to have the life I do--I am so grateful to God. He showers me with matchless love on a daily basis. I believe when I share His love with others, it's a little taste of what Heaven will be like. *** Female in Moti...

The Bible: Read and Understood

Photo courtesy of  Pinterest 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. I read a lot of devotions. Every day, I read one from Proverbs 31 Ministries, God Calling, Chuck Swindoll, and Holley Gerth. There are also several Christian bloggers I follow weekly. The Hubster and I catch YouTube video sermons and podcasts on weekends. My reasoning is simple: It is research for my blog. It helps me mature as a Christ Follower. I love to study the Bible. According to God Calling, we should "discipline and perfect yourself at all costs." Perfecting yourself doesn't mean to act perfectly, but rather to make progress in a forward fashion. I want to always strive to be better than yesterday. Whatever your area of ministry, make sure you stay in the Word. It can only help your work, and if there is ever any conflict or storm of life, you can be sure to find the resolution in God...
