A Prayer for Peace

My girl, Holley Gerth, gets down to the nitty gritty.
Psalm 32:7 (KJV) Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. 

Precious Lord,
Fear is loud. It screams in my ears, blocking out the Word I know by heart. I am paralyzed; worse yet, I contemplate fear-based sin.

We let fear get between us and the best God has to offer. But fear is powerless next to our Savior. 

I'm going to stand on Your promises, Lord. Give me victory over fear.

I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Bravely Onward

The day I started work at Rainbows United, I took the exit ramp onto K96 and encountered this billboard. Somehow, I felt that God had placed it there just for me. I know that Fidelity Bank in Wichita has a publicity campaign that encourages business owners and citizens to fight back against the perilous economic times we are facing. Our business had closed three months before, and I really needed a job. The billing specialist position at RUI came as a complete surprise. I knew their reputation and jumped in with both feet. Still, I was nervous. Could I do it? Was I strong enough? The billboard is still there, and I ask myself the same question every morning.
